THE HARDING UNIVERSITY CHOIR
The Harding University Choir from Searcy, Arkansas will be touring in May 202, through Northern Europe.
The tour starts in Mayenne in France and leads via Cologne, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Hildesheim, Peine and Leipzig to Sopot in Poland, where the choir will sing international songs.
The choir's repertoire includes sacred music Masterpieces, hymns and spirituals as well as folk songs from different countries.
Of the group's 45 singers, 13 are studying music.
Dr. Susan Shirel,
Assistant Professor of Music,
directs the choir and gives private singing lessons and courses in music education.
The choir travels abroad every two or three years. Every January, they tour the U.S. Giving a series of concerts at the university, and often collaborating with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra performing masterworks.
Harding University is the largest private university in Arkansas, with approximately 5,000 students who hail from 49 states and 50 other countries. The university maintains seven campuses.
